Renovating Your Mailbox
Renovating your mailbox is easy!
Parts Required
If you would like to renovate your mailbox, here are the parts you will need.
- 1 x 12oz. Can of Flat / Matte Black Spray Paint
- 8 x 2″ Brass Numbers Numbers (Optional but recommended)
You can use the existing numbers, but it much easier to purchase new ones and affix them on after painting. - 1 x Brass Knob (Optional but recommended)
This is optional, but recommended as the USPS don’t like the smaller knob!
Instructions
- Take a photo of the number plate to remember the number positioning.
- Wipe clean the mailbox to remove any organic material.
- Remove the brass knob from the front of the mailbox.
- Unscrew the number plate from the top of the mailbox.
- Remove the existing numbers from the number plate and ensure the number plate is free of residue.
- Spray the number plate with matte black spray paint.
Tip: Hang it from a coat hanger to get an even finish. - Spray the rest of the mailbox (door closed) with the matte black spray paint.
- When the number plate is fully dried and cured (24 hours) carefully re-apply the brass numbers ensuring you place them in the same place as the old numbers.
- Screw the number plate to the top of the mailbox.
- Bolt on the new brass knob.
You’re done!
